WATER ACCESS
Boating is a large part of living in coastal North Carolina and Olde Point offers its residents direct and deeded access to the Intracoastal Waterway via a boat ramp located at the Harbor Village Yacht Club on Lot 1. This lot is near the intersection of Kings Landing Road and Olde Point Loop Road. The ramp is also close to a marked channel leading to the Atlantic Ocean.
Olde Point developers provided Olde Point lot owners with a perpetual easement to use the lot as a boat ramp and recreation area when they sold the property to the Harbor Village Yacht Club in 1999. A copy of that deed with the perpetual easement highlighted can be viewed HERE.
The Harbor Village Yacht Club charges an annual fee to use the ramp, and requires that residents follow their rules and regulations for ramp use. The fees are used to defray yacht club costs to repair, maintain, and improve the ramp. The yacht club issues keys for access to the boat ramp gate, and also maintains a boat storage lot across the street from the ramp that can be leased annually by residents if space is available.
Residents can contact Ron Willems at 270-5487 for information on use of the Clubhouse. For boat storage and ramp key information contact Paul or Karen Saari at 270-8562. Residents should also check the Covenants of their respective developments for any restrictions concerning the storage or parking of boats and/or trailers on their property.
